It has been an honour and a privilege to have supported DMRC Headley Court during 2006 - 07, and it is with great delight that we have been able to present a total of £1500.00 to them.
Our donation is made in memory of those who lost their lives whilst on active service during the past year.
*****
Headley Court is the home of the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. Their aim is to return those who have been injured or who are seriously ill to full physical fitness and back to duty in the shortest possible time. It is also the Services Amputee Section.
With a staff of about 220, they provide a comprehensive and intensive residential rehabilitation programme, as well as an outpatient service. The orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation teams are multi-disciplinary and work with the patient (and their families in some cases) to achieve their full potential.
This treatment approach, combined with a positive attitude in the patient and high morale in our staff is fundamental in the DMRC's work. Treatment is supported by the fact that DMRC Headley Court is set in 84 acres of magnificent landscaped gardens adjacent to National Trust parkland. The facilities, size and the consistent high quality of their rehabilitation work combine to make Headley Court unique.
Headley Court provides treatment for all serving members of HM Forces, as well as Commonwealth and NATO forces stationed in the UK.
Staff are drawn from all 3 Services and the Civil Service. The Unit is divided into 4 Divisions: Headquarters Division (Commander and immediate staff), Administrative Division (Support services), Medical Division (Consultants/Specialists and Remedial Instructor training) and Rehabilitation Division (Therapy services and patient support).
