A letter of from Group Captain J N Ager MA RAF, Station Commander, RAF Brize Norton says:
Dear Sergeant Evans,
I was delighted to see that you have been awarded the Air Officer Commanding Number 2 Group’s Commendation in conjunction with the New Year’s Honours List for your exceptional performance in post.
In your primary role you manage the Squadron engineering continuous improvement policy on behalf od the Senior Engineering Officer. Many of the recent changes to the 216 Squadron engineering processes have been as a result of your dedication, enthusiasm and drive in encouraging personnel to consider and react to continuous improvement initiatives. You have been instrumental in developing a paradigm of Infrastructure Management that presents a process framework through which all the elements of Health and Safety can be monitored and controlled with the greatest efficiency. Indeed, the model has so impressed the area health and safety officer that he believes it could be implemented on national level.
You were handpicked to be part of a team to trial the implementation of a process for maintenance error investigation. During the initial Station working group meetings you were instrumental in reviewing and amending the processes through which maintenance error investigation would be introduced at RAF Brize Norton. Moreover, since the inception you have driven forward the new principles fervently advocating the Maintenance Error Management Systems (MEMS). Unsurprisingly you often work extremely long hours not only to complete maintenance error investigation reports but also to drive forward new continuous improvement initiatives. Furthermore, you have given up your rare free time to assist in the Station Families Day and to organise 216 Squadron’s 90th Anniversary, to cite but a few of your endeavours.
Thank you for your sterling efforts, professionalism and devotion to duty. Such dedicated service is rare and rightfully deserves recognition. Personally, and on behalf of all at Royal Air Force Brize Norton, I send you my sincere congratulations for a job well done.
(handwritten addition)
Well done for all your personal efforts to improve 216 Squadron and your promotion of H F MEMS. Thank you.
Kind regards,
J Ager
And a massive "Well Done" from all of us, who value and appreciate the time you also give to maintaining the YRF website.
