 Andrews UK release download single “Goodnight Dad” for The YRF
Yellow Ribbon Announcements
Goodnight Dad is a monologue read by illustrator and writer Mike Payne, with all net profits donated to the Yellow Ribbon Foundation.

How many times have we looked at the news on television, and thought to ourselves, “I wish I could do something!”
 
When Mike Payne, illustrator, writer and creator of the iconic Tatty Teddy from Me To You Bears, and the Charlie’s Ark range of audiobooks saw a news item on Sky News about another soldier being killed in Helmand Province, he did do something. He is hoping that it will generate much-needed funds for the Yellow Ribbon Foundation, which spreads awareness of and support for the British Armed Forces and their families and loved ones back home.

The winner of this award will be a civilian - a civil servant, contractor, charity worker or member of the public - who has provided exceptional help to the Armed Forces (open to civilians only).

Please nominate The YRF for this award. So many reasons to consider us but if you need an example, just think ... permanent "Welcome Home" erected at RAF Brize Norton Arrivals.

 4 Peaks Challenge 2009 for the Wooden Spoon Charity
Yellow Ribbon Announcements

It is the time of year again when 4 of us Navy lads take to the hills and attempt those 4 peaks again (Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Snowdon and Carantouhill) all in aid of the Wooden Spoon Charity for disabled and disadvantaged children. I know times is 'ard but we are struggling to match the previous two years totals of over £30,000 so ALL help greatly appreciated. we have a very fit team this year and have a chance of the overall trophy.

AN UPDATE - They
came 4th overall & won the most funds raised (30k) trophy. Well done Va Va Victory & a HUGE thank you to all of you who donated.

All forces members now get a discount at Austin Reed stores on production of ID. 

They have also chosen Help for Heroes as their chosen charity with pin badges on sale at the tills.  Pins are shaped as a medal with enamel ribbon.
